Events in Our Lives Happen For Good Reason

Philosophy: The business of our minds is constant. A constant buzz of processing and predicting outcomes. Applying superstitions and adding unnecessary meaning to irrelevant so-called signs. Keep your wits about you. Decide that you are lucky and you shall be. Always assume that all events in life happen for good reason. The universe presents an advantage for you to gain from every situation, you just have to look for it!
Insight: "A winter ski trip had become a new tradition for me. My streak was three years running, about to my fourth. My tickets were bought and accommodations were set up through my travel companion for a vehicle and lodging through his family. Literally an hour before leaving for the airport, may buddy simply texted he wasn't going. Pissed off and realizing 3/4 of the trip depended on him and his family, I pulled the plug and took the plane ticket and experience as a loss.
My 12 year old doberman, Ana, had recently become ill and her conditions worsened over the course of those next three days that I was supposed to be on the mountain. She was put down just a couple days after I would've returned.
The lesson here is that my anger and resentment toward my friend and what I thought he took from me turned out to be a blessing. A blessing of spending the entirety of Ana's last few days together. Doing all the things she loved and feeling the most gratitude for our unconditional companionship. I am forever grateful for the turn of events that allowed for this.
The good from the bad won't always be revealed with such immediacy, but remember that all events contain an advantage for you when you look for it."
